Kid's Foot Problems

At Foot and Ankle Center, we treat a variety of children's foot problems, including:

  • Heel Pain in Young Athletes
  • Flat Feet
  • "Growing Pains"
  • Injuries
  • Chronic Ingrown Nails
  • Warts

Younger children have difficulty identifying the source of pain.

Often, if their feet or legs are tired or hurting, instead of saying their feet hurt they will either limp or refuse to walk or participate in a sport. They may ask to ride in the shopping cart instead of walk. At the Mall or Zoo, they may ask to sit down without explanation. All of those bevaviors may indicate a foot or lower leg problem.

Children's feet are different from adults' feet in many ways, and foot pain or mechanical abnormalities of children's feet often present themselves differently than adults.

An understanding of children , their unique way of feeling and responding to pain, and their ways of handling pain and injury is needed to accurately diagnose and treat their foot problems.
